Thomson Nature Park

THOMSON NATURE PARK
In unveiling plans for the Thomson Nature Park on Saturday (Oct 8), the National Parks Board (NParks) said it will continue to enhance the forest habitat by planting native tree species there when works start in early 2017. This will help with forest regeneration, and facilitate the movement of rare animals, between forest patches.
The Thomson Nature Park is one of four such parks announced by NParks in 2014 to extend the green buffer for the Central Catchment Nature Reserve.
UPPER THOMSON MRT STATION
(THOMSON-EAST COAST LINE)
The Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL) is a joint line between the Thomson Line and the Eastern Region Line.
The 43km TEL will add 31 new stations to the existing rail network, with 7 interchange stations, which will link to the East-West Line, North-South Line, North-East Line, Circle Line and the Downtown Line.
Commuters can start enjoying the TEL in stages from 2019.

NORTH SOUTH CORRIDOR
The North-South Expressway—originally conceived as a 21.5km expressway to connect towns in the North to the city centre—is being redesigned as North-South Corridor to better enable cycling and walking. The NSC will be Singapore’s first integrated transport corridor featuring continuous bus lanes and cycling trunk routes.
The dedicated bus lanes for express bus services will reduce travelling time from Woodlands, Sembawang, Yishun and Ang Mo Kio to the city by up to 30mins and also make bus connections between residential towns along the NSC faster.

RAFFLES GIRLS' SCHOOL (NEW CAMPUS)
The Raffles Girls' School's (RGS) new campus in Braddell Road will be ready by the end of 2019, barring unforeseen circumstances.
RGS principal Poh Mun See said that the new 6ha campus, which is bigger than the school's current Anderson Road plot of about 4.5ha, "takes into account RGS' enrolment and provision of key programmes".
The school, which will be located opposite brother school Raffles Institution (RI) at the site of the former Braddell-Westlake Secondary School, will have new learning spaces that are "student-focused, environmentally friendly and inclusive of the community around us", said Mrs Poh.
